School Cleaning for Abbeygate College - Chester
This was one of the first school contracts that JMS procured in 2015 and after some initial challenges that were faced regarding TUPE transfers and subsequent staff recruitment; we have always managed to fulfil the expectations of our client.
The client was made aware of the problematic process that our operations team and area supervisor faced and have been very understanding, cooperative and supportive during the beginning of the contract continuing to work with us, forming good working relationships.
Throughout the process we ensured we maintained the standards that are both required and expected. We have built a strong cohesive team of cleaners who endeavour to deliver a high quality, reliable service which is supported by our operations team, area supervisor and administration staff.
The process has enabled us to review, update and instigate procedures proving beneficial to all parties ie client, staff and JMS.
School Cleaning for the Co-operative Academy
This was a brand new school build with a programme of approximately 50 weeks, with a modern design and some interesting challenges regarding access areas to stairwells and glazing above the canteen area. We required advice from our access suppliers as to what equipment would be needed to clean above stairwells that had a lot of glazing.
The project was based on a 12 week programme, with two cleans prior to handover. We encountered a number of issues – in particular a black, nonslip vinyl floor that, after several cleans, kept drying and leaving a white film in the vinyl. With help from the floor manufacturer, we were able to come up with a cleaning process that brought the floor back to a new look finish. It also gave us the opportunity to train the school’s own cleaning team, to ensure that the correct maintenance programme was adhered to. The external works included window cleaning and cleaning of cladding and render – none of which caused any real issues for JMS Cleaning Services.
The last two or three weeks became a real challenge for us, due to other trades falling behind or slight changes to the programme.
However, with daily sub-contractor meetings and a lot of planning, we managed to get the school handed over on time to the satisfaction of our client, and subsequently they were able to open on schedule.
Builders Cleaning for Balfour Beatty
St Ambrose College, a Voluntary Aided Roman Catholic boys’ grammar school in Hale Barns, Trafford, achieved planning consent in May 2010 and opened to pupils in Sept 2012. It was one of the last BSF schools in the country to be constructed under this programme.
JMS Cleaning Services delivered both the external envelope cleaning and internal cleaning logistics in what was to be a challenging 8 week programme on behalf of our client Balfour Beatty Construction Northern.
This project presented many challenges, including the fact that the building was a complex design and shape. Specialist high-level equipment, such as spider access equipment, was required to reach the atrium areas, and additional training was required for our operatives.
Builders Cleaning for Kier Construction - Poynton High School
This was a new build extension to the existing school along with a refurbishment of several existing classrooms. In the main, the new build was straightforward with a lot of glazed curtain walling.
However, the building had some roof lights that proved difficult to access once the scaffolding was taken down and fixed furniture was fitted. We had to look at building a scaffold bridge over the furniture to gain access to the glazed roof lights.
The build was a two storey education block with an architectural spiral staircase to the front of the entrance, an open plan reception area and a number of classes on both levels. The first floor corridor was also being utilised as classroom space to ensure full use of floor space.
The clients site manager was very happy with the work carried out by JMS Cleaning Services UK Ltd (see testimonials). It was the first time he had worked with us and has since invited us to work with him on his new project at Burnley General Hospital.
Daily Office Cleaning for Europa Point, Warrington
JMS were awarded the contract for full building clean at a Europa Point in Warrington in June 2019.
The reason JMS were awarded this contract was partly due to the excellent performance on our other contracts.
The contract involved a phased cleaning approach to coincide with the building refurbishment.
Starting with the admin office phase one, phase two warehouse refurb and finial phase three the clinic rooms.
This project changed over the refurbishment time scale and JMS quickly adapted there work to meet our clients’ needs.
JMS carry out full site cleaning which is split in to three types;
- Industrial cleaning in the warehouse area
- Office cleaning in the admin area
- Clinic cleaning in the NHS clinic rooms
They have carried out all the contracted tasks to our and the clients full satisfaction providing full holiday and sickness cover.
I found the JMS management and team to be very responsive to all Eric Wright needs and engaged openly with ourselves and our client to address any issues.
They recently dealt with a Cleaning issue from the result of a serious flood in which we needed very quickly a cleaning team on site. JMS responded within one hour which helped to minimise the damage caused by this flood so the building could be fully operational quickly.
